I’ve wanted to do this kind of end of the year post every year since I began blogging but I don’t think I ever sat down to do it before now. It felt mighty good to review the year, what happened and select my favourite photo or photos from each month.
I am so grateful to each and ever person who chose to take one of my courses this past year. It was a big year in the ‘big picture’ but also had a lot of gentleness to it. So thank you to those people I got to connect with this year and thank you to 2011.
Now, onward to 2012!
In January:
- I launched Wading In and had my world shift from offering just one e-course to really starting a business.
- Trained for my first ever 10km race
In February:
- I travelled to the oregon coast to help at the Pen and Paper retreat.
- I ran a new session of YAYOM. I was truly changed by the participants in this session. Awestruck and smitten with them all.
- Visited my beloved home away from home, the Bay Area and had an amazing time with dear friends.
In March:
- I did a photo shoot with the lovely Madelyn Mulvaney
- I found out I had to move and pondered leaving Vancouver
- I got to be a part of the Roots of She Spring Tribe which was a total honour and strenghtened my love of writing
In April:
- I had more Oregon Coast time for the Joy Retreat, took my favourite photo I have ever taken (the double exposure polaroid below)
- I got my first ever broken bone (stress fracture) 2 weeks before my race. Hobbled around Oregon in major pain before I realized what it was.
In May:
- I spent a weekend on Bowen Island with some amazing friends. We played music, went for walks and drank way too much wine. Awesomeness.
In June:
- Found a new home, packed and prepared to move where I had been living for 5 years. Mourned leaving my old neighbourhood.
In July:
- The summer of love. Shot two weddings of people I adore.
- A month of upheaval as I moved to my new little apartment on the drive.
- Went to my beloved Vancouver Folk Festival
- Ran Light Hunters for the first time and spent a lot of the month hunting beautiful light.
In August:
- Felt a noticable sense of safety that I haven’t in a really long time, living in a neighbourhood that felt safe and a house in which I have never been robbed and don’t feel at risk. Didn’t know how much I needed this.
- Shot two more breathtaking weddings and saw one of my best friends get married to her love (thats her in the red dress).
In September:
- Ran Swan Dive for the first time
- Shot one more wedding in the summer of love, this one on the beautiful sunshine coast
In October:
- Taught my first workshop at Create Magic. Had a truly incredible, healing time at that retreat.
- Visited with my family in Oregon and got some amazing nephew time.
In November:
-Back to Oregon to celebrate my nephew’s second birthday.
In December:
- I spent time with my entire family. A lovely christmas. New goals and working on new projects. Hopeful.
- Brought in the new year in the company of lovely friends, chats about our ‘word of the year’ and intentions for 2012, amazing spelt and gluten free pizza, major belly laughs and a feeling of home in their company.
