Rose Coloured Glasses

I have a brand new class to share with you! Last winter I fell in love with teaching 2 week long courses. It felt like it was a beautiful amount of time to focus on a creative adventure and I loved hearing that the course after effects long past when it was over. So, when Live it to the Full asked me to create a new course to teach for them, I was all for it.

So, I’d love to introduce you to a new class: Rose Coloured Glasses

It is two weeks of quirky, fun and playful ways of engaging in seeing and documenting the beauty we see around us and noticing the ways that it renews us, replenishes us and simply sometimes just helps us get through our days.

I’ve been saving up some super special activities for this class, so while its in the same style of Rule Free Photography (a great next step after that course) its full of more outside-the-box activities to get you inspired this season!

Late Summer Garden Wanderings

I know we’re on the verge of the shift of season.

The forecast forewarned me of it was about to happen so I grabbed my camera for an evening stroll through the community garden this weekend, knowing those blue skies were about to get a bit less frequent.

I’m ready for it, not the clouds, but the coziness. The nesting.

It honestly has felt more like I had a ‘real summer’ than I’ve had in years. There was lots of work to be done this summer, but also room for lots of play. A week at the cottage with the family, a getaway with friends to explore Ucluelet and Tofino, that amazing weekend in Whistler and lots of time spent with friends simply sitting in the sun and connecting.

This past session of E-Courses is coming to a close too. I had so much fun seeing the images of the Chakra Photo Adventurers these last 7 weeks and oh my…this past session of Montage really blew me away (more on that soon).

There is lots more coming this fall:

You are Your Own Muse starts September 10th and we have such a lovely collection of folks gathering for it (and you get the Wading In PDF when you sign up, as a way to get inspired before class starts).

Light Hunters begins September 1st (maybe this is your month to fall in love with light).

Montage runs again this November!

The Chakra Photo Workshop is starting soon!

Just wanted to remind you in case you needed some light~playful~colourful~connected inspiration throughout these coming months…that the Chakra Photo Workshop is starting next Monday!

Though the topic is quite different than my other courses, the energy in the classes is the same: playful, exploratory, supportive and oh so rich in community energy.

We already have an incredible group who have joined in for the class, but there is still room for you if you’d like to join us! If you have any questions on whether this course would be right for you, don’t hesitate to ask.

YAYOM is back!

You are Your Own Muse is back!

As you’ve likely noticed, I’ve been creating a variety of new courses lately. I’m loving offering new classes and the creating new content pushes me in my own photography journey. Part of my draw to create new courses is that the ideas pop into my mind and refuse to be ignored, but also because I have a really incredible group of folks who have taken my courses and love gathering together in a new one to continue their journey and to connect with one another.

So, I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with the two courses I’ve run regularly for the last year and a half. I actually have some grand plans for YAYOM to evolve into quite a different format, but I feel like there are still lots of folks out there that it would benefit as an e-course so I’m offering it again this fall!

I’ve actually decided not to run Wading In this fall BUT instead I am going to give all of the YAYOM’s of this session the E-Book for Wading In, long before class begins so they will essentially get 2 classes for the price of 1!

We’ll be opening up the flickr group for YAYOM early as well so we can start sharing our Wading In images.

So, YAYOM is returning this fall and registration is now open. I’m just sprucing up the Wading In E-Book but it will head into the inboxes of the participants by July so they have a few months to explore it!

YAYOM is one of those classes that I limit at 50 participants as well, to cultivate community energy and to be able to offer the attention and connection to each image shared.

Spots are being snapped up already, so I encourage you to secure your spot early for this class if you’d like to take part (I’m also totally open to payment plans by the way). You can register here for the upcoming session!

When We are Playing

I love that quote.

Its true. Playfulness pulls us away from the need for perfection, away from our worries and back into the experience of just being.

Rule-Free Photography starts tomorrow (and is only $29) and this class is full of playfulness. While breaking the rules sounds rebellious, this class is really all about creating images playfully and outside the box and inviting ourselves to engage in photography in a really experiential and inquisitive way.

Its a beautiful 2 week dose of playfulness and now is the perfect time to join in! We’re beginning to gather in the flickr group and classroom and I hope you’ll ponder joining in.

As well, Montage is beginning soon! I’m sending out the pre-class PDF to the participants tomorrow (so excited to begin) and they will be invited to start gathering video for the course. This session is sold out but there is another session coming up in August and the early bird price for the August session is only until the end of May!
